Our goal is to help keep your smile healthy and vibrant for a lifetime. At each preventive care appointment, you will receive a comfortable, comprehensive cleaning and exam from your hygienist and dentist. Each of our dental chairs is outfitted with a flat screen TV and headphones to allow our patients to relax while we improve smiles and oral health.
We have had the ability to take close-up pictures of each tooth, magnify it, and project it onto each patient’s TV screen. Our intraoral cameras allow you to see what we see, and help us detect problems early on.
Nearly 50,000 Americans are diagnosed with oral cancer each year. (1) There has been a steady increase of oral cancer cases which developed from certain viruses (like HPV). While smoking or drinking heavily can increase your risk, this cancer can affect anyone. Oral cancer screenings are conducted in-office during every preventive care appointment.
Dental x-rays are among the safest x-rays you could receive. (2) For additional protection, we provide our patients with protective aprons and thyroid collars beforehand. Digital x-rays allow your dentist to better detect everything from cavities in between teeth to changes in bone structure beyond what is visible to the eye alone.
Sealants are a thin, protective coating applied to molars and bicuspids to prevent cavities from forming in tooth grooves. Studies have shown that sealants can reduce the risk of tooth decay by nearly 80%. (3)
Fluoride varnish can be useful in preventing cavities where soft root surfaces have become exposed due to gum recession. We can determine during your preventive care appointment whether this treatment would be beneficial to you.
